advanced toolbox for a well-founded design

To go from an idea to a complete design, Folmer Innovations has a wide range of advanced tools (including FEA, MBD, CFD) for calculating strength, movements, flows and the interaction between them.

Important calculations are performed in different ways so that the results of the different methods can be compared for more certainty and accuracy.

Based on your specification, Folmer Innovations arrives at your design in different steps. Folmer Innovations uses a structured process for this.

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

With a FEA calculation, stresses, deformations, reaction forces, etc. can be calculated. This is possible for 3D models, sheet metal and beam models. Special expertise:

- Non-linear calculations (non-linear material behavior, contacts with friction, etc.)

- Large deformations and displacements

- Plastics and rubbers

- Fatigue calculation

Multi-body analysis (MBD)

In an MBD model, the motions and mutual reaction forces of multiple moving bodies are calculated, including accelerations and decelerations, transmissions, stops and bumpers, etc. The calculated forces can be used for strength, deformation and fatigue calculations.

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)

A CFD calculation is used to calculate flowing or moving fluids with pressure and flow variation and the interaction with fixed or moving objects. Special expertise:

- Multiple fluids in one simulation with different density and viscosity

- Waves and the interaction of wavy water with (floating) objects

- Interaction of fluid flow on objects, such as drag and lift

- Turbulent / laminar

- Transient / steady state
